Sheen Panel Service appoints Jason Trewin as General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Technical Compliance

Industry veteran brings almost four decades of collision repair expertise.

Sheen Panel Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Trewin to the newly created role of General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Technical Compliance, effective 29 June 2026. A respected figure across the Australian collision repair industry, Jason brings almost forty years of experience spanning the workshop floor, business ownership, international markets, technical training and extensive board service.

A career built on repair excellence

Jason's career began on the tools. From the shop floor, he went on to build and run his own body shop before broadening into business roles across Australia and overseas. "One thing has never changed through all of it: my belief that every vehicle should be repaired properly and safely, exactly the way it was built to be," he said. That commitment led him into training technicians and, from there, into wider industry leadership.

Among his proudest achievements are building a business and team from the ground up, and knowing the technicians he has trained "are out there doing safer, better-quality repairs."

Few people have worked across as many dimensions of the industry: hands-on repair, business ownership at home and abroad, technician training, and governance through boards and committees. Underpinning that breadth, he says, is a simple principle: repairing a vehicle correctly and safely is not negotiable.

For Jason, the role itself was the drawcard, bringing together the two things he cares most about: strong industry relationships and repairs done to the right standard. Open conversations with the Sheen team confirmed a shared commitment to continual improvement and genuine investment in people and process, making the decision an easy one.

Looking ahead for the collision repair industry

Looking ahead, Jason sees significant opportunity in the technology now standard in modern vehicles. Driver-assist and safety systems must be repaired and recalibrated precisely to the manufacturer's process, a discipline that will only grow in importance. He also wants to bring manufacturers, industry groups and repairers closer together, and above all to help develop the next generation of technicians.

He describes an industry shifting from experience-based repairs to a procedure-based system in which continual learning is the only sustainable advantage. "The moment you stop learning is the moment you fall behind," he said.

Industry leadership and credentials

Over the course of his career, Jason has contributed to the collision repair industry in many different ways—not only through hands-on repair work, but also by helping shape industry standards, mentor future technicians and support skills development.

His experience across leading organisations and technical training reflects the depth of expertise he'll bring to the Sheen team.

  • Executive Committee Member, Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC)
